Defense Skill Tree
LegendaryDefense stacks maximum HP and cuts damage taken from each of the seven elements. Essential once you push past Act 5 in Story Mode where boss enemies bring paired critical strikes.
The tree runs 46 nodes grouped into 10 linear effect families. Every node costs 1 skill point and requires the previous tier in its family, so you climb chains rather than pick individual nodes.
Full unlock costs 46 skill points. Your total SP pool is shared across all seven trees, so plan carefully - most players never max out every tree in a single character.

How the tree works
Defense is one of 7 skill trees in Unscathed. Focus: hp and elemental damage resistance.
46 nodes total across 5 tiers. Each node costs 1 skill point to unlock and most tier-N nodes require you to have unlocked the tier N-1 version first. Full unlock of every node in Defense costs 46 skill points - budget carefully because your total skill point pool is shared across all seven trees.
Skill points come from levelling your character, Battlepass tier rewards and Story Mode Act clears. Reset Defense (and any other tree) at the Alchemist NPC's Reset Skill Tree Points option - it costs Robux but lets you re-spec around a new build without losing progress.
Effect families
Defense groups its 46 nodes into 10 effect families. Each family is a linear upgrade chain - later tiers require the earlier ones.

Recommended build order
Prioritize the effect family that matches your playstyle - Attack builds start at IncreaseAllDmg or IncreaseCritChance, Luck builds at IncreaseLuck, Alchemist at DuplicateChance.
Open with tier 1 picks in your target family (Bulwark I, Elemental Damage Reduction, Flame Ward I etc.) so you can climb its chain fast.
Cross-tree pairing: Defense pairs well with Attack (survive to output damage).
Reset cost: use Reset Skill Tree Points from the shop if you plan to shift builds - the reset returns every SP invested in Defense (and all trees) so you can re-spec cleanly.
FAQ
What does the Defense skill tree do in Unscathed?
HP and elemental damage resistance. 46 nodes across 5 tiers, 46 SP total to fully unlock. Best for story mode pushers and pvp contestants who can't afford glass-cannon builds.
Which Defense nodes should I unlock first in Unscathed?
Focus on Earth-element damage taken reduction. It's the largest chain in the tree (5 tiers) and builds up to +10% at max rank. Grab the tier 1 node, then climb the chain rank by rank.
How do I reset the Defense skill tree?
Buy the Reset Skill Tree Points dev-product from the in-game shop (Robux). It refunds every SP you invested across all trees so you can re-spec Defense plus any other tree in one go.
How many skill points do I need for the full Defense tree?
46 SP to unlock every node. Skill points come from levelling, Battlepass tiers and Story Mode Act rewards, so budget carefully across all seven trees - you won't have enough SP for every node in every tree.
